Bike now in for a full service @cooksoncycles

I dropped the bike into the local bike shop earlier – Cookson Cycles in Whitefield.  I always get my bikes serviced/repaired here and would recommend it.  In addition to the service it looks like I’ll be getting

  • the brake blocks replaced
  • the chain replaced
  • the cassette replaced (hopefully with a 12-27 rather than a 12-25 – to make those Cornish hills that little bit easier!)
  • hopefully the big ring on the front replaced

The bike has done 2200 miles since I got it towards the end of January so is well due a thorough service.

I’m also toying with the idea of getting some new wheels.  Shimano’s RS80‘s have caught my eye, and it would be good to have some spares (my old ones) on the ride.  I’ve not decided yet though – it’s a lot of money even for what is a fairly basic set like the RS80’s, and the overall trip itself is already costing me an arm and a leg.  I’ll keep you posted!

Good choice, I don’t trust anyone else with my bikes!
